Three Tricks To Kickstart Your Twitter

Twitter has become a bit of an ugly step-sister.

Whilst Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat’s user base continues to grow – Twitter’s has stagnated.

This has led many to declare Twitter officially, DEAD.

Which is really silly.

Twitter still has over 320 million active monthly users. Why would you not want to try to reach them?

However, it is hard work. If you want to generate business from the micro-blogging platform, you’ll need to put these three tips into practice.

Curate… Carefully

Content curation is a fantastic and efficient way to provide content to your followers without having to put the time in to create your own.

It also allows you to piggyback the actual content creators success as your post will show up when people search for their names.

However, one of the foundations of content marketing is to show that you are an expert in your field.

Only share content that is highly relevant to your followers, and then add your own thoughts and opinions.

Don’t just mindlessly retweet, and don’t share poor quality content.

Engagement Over Everything

Twitter’s strength over Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc. is its ability to be a brilliant place to chat to one another.

So do that.

Engage with your audience, rather than just endlessly pushing out posts

Book out time every week to engage with your current and potential audience.

More listening, less talking.

Don’t Pad Your Stats

There are plenty of ways to boost your Twitter follower count. But none are better than doing it organically.

If you pay for/attract spammy, dormant, or fake accounts you make your account look less genuine.

If you want to find pages that do this – look for accounts that have lots of followers and very little engagement on their posts.

You are much better off building your follower count organically, by sharing quality content and engaging with your current followers.

Twitter may be struggling with an identity crisis right now, but that doesn’t mean that you should ignore it. Spend time each week sharing quality content and engaging with your audience.
