Christmas truly is the season of giving and goodwill. Throughout the year, we as a company support charities in various ways, through fundraising, offering social media and marketing help and guidance, and through being involved in the local community. Social value is a critical part of being a considerate and responsible company, and we encourage every business, no matter how big or small, to do their part in bettering their communities and causes beyond their communities. With all of this in mind, we wanted to take the opportunity to highlight some of the charities and organisations we’re supporting this Christmas
Save The Children UK: Christmas Jumper Day
Every year, Save The Children hosts a Christmas Jumper Day, where schools and businesses wear Christmas Jumpers to raise money. Save The Children uses the funds raised by the amazing public to feed and shelter vulnerable children all over the world, who are usually forgotten because they are refugees, girls, from a minority group or are disabled. As well as feeding and sheltering, Save The Children also helps the children access essential education, healthcare and protection.
It’s safe to say that Pendleside Hospice holds a special place in the hearts of everyone in the area, whether you have accessed the incredible help they offer, know someone who has, or has attended one of their amazing events, which never fail to bring the community together, Pendleside is a brilliant charity that we all know and love. Dave Walker, +24’S MD, is a Pendleside trustee, and +24 has helped the Hospice with their social media and marketing for around one to two years, now. Pendleside delivers specialist, tailored palliative care which addresses the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of patients with life-limiting illnesses, their families and their carers, in a mission to enhance their quality of life.
Blackburn Youth Zone: Christmas Jumper Day
In essence, we just seem to love a good Christmas jumper day at +24. This time, we have donned our festive threads and draped every surface in tinsel in aide of Blackburn Youth Zone. Blackburn Youth Zone is a youth hub that is open 7 days a week, offering over 20 activities each evening to young people aged 5 to 19, with the aim of changing the prospects available to them in the area. The Youth Zone has a range of activities and clubs, from Diversity Clubs to Cinema Trips, and champions the principle of “starting where young people are, going where young people take us”.
Burnley FC in the Community
From one of our recent blog posts about our impressive (second place) quizzing victory, some may know about our involvement with Burnley FC in the Community. +24 is both Burnley FC in the Community Silver Patrons and sponsors of the Match Day Experiences. The charity works within five key areas: sports, education, health, social inclusion and community facilities. Their mission, driven by the belief that football has the ability transform people’s lives for the better, is to inspire, support and deliver change to communities across the areas of Burnley and the surrounding Pendle, Rossendale, Hyndburn, the Ribble Valley and Calderdale. As Silver Patrons, we work closely with the charity and are involved in many of their projects and events, such as the recent quiz. We believed that sponsoring the Match Day Experience programme was important as we hold the view that sport is an incredible opportunity for young people, and helps them build their confidence, improve their teamwork skills and open doors for them later in life.
