Educate, Entertain, Inform.

Ryan Lee has a great book called Ask! It shows you how to drill down into the tiniest detail about your audience, researching and asking them questions so you can get your target audience and marketing spot on.

I would say this. Whilst it’s a great book, if you don’t have a lot of time on your hands then you at least need to know what their interests are.

When you educate them, you are providing great quality information that they can take away and implement. I guess that’s what I’m doing here.

When you entertain, make sure it is exactly that. Your audience want to hang on your every post, article or video. It’s great though to also provide some entertainment that isn’t business related. Everybody needs a break now and again.

Informing could be as something as simple as giving information about yourself. Everybody likes to get to know who they are buying from. Tell them something they don’t know about you. Or post up some information they are going to find useful that is relatable to their business e.g. local community news with your point of view on it and then ask for their comments.

In essence you are looking to do one of the three things every time.

Educate. Entertain. Inform.
