The RunAway Challenge #MakeADifference

I wanted to set myself a big challenge that combined my love of away days with my passion for running and for my hometown of Burnley. From this, the idea for RunAway took shape.” – Scott Cunliffe

Scott Cunliffe is a local Burnley FC fan and former charity worker who has previously taken part in several ultra marathons. Scott, who says that running has been a powerful tool for him in his journey to achieve positive mental and physical wellbeing, has set himself a challenge to run 19 ultra marathons, spanning 3000 miles over the course of 500 hours in order to raise money for local causes.

The ultra marathons are the equivalent of 115 regular marathons and will be ran to every Burnley away game. Scott’s fundraising target is £10,000 and he hopes to unite people through football to make time for their mental and physical health, as he has done through running.

To raise awareness for and inform people about his incredible challenge, Scott needed his own website.

As a local business involved with many community charities (such as Pendleside Hospice and Burnley FC in the Community), +24 were only too happy to help Scott create the website he needed, free of charge. Our team of talented web designers and developers worked to make a clean, easy to navigate website that informed visitors of Scott’s challenge, what he aims to raise and what motivated him to take on this monumental fundraising effort.

The charities Scott hopes to help are community based causes that “offer innovative activities to improve the mental and physical health of disadvantaged people”.
