Using creative marketing to boost an exciting new event and shine a spotlight on a well-known local charity.

What is Burnley Colour Dash?

Burnley Colour Dash is the bright idea of Pendleside Hospice, a well-known and well-loved local charity to the Burnley area. A fun 5km run, jog or walk with a difference, the event incorporated colourful “colour blast” stations, covering sponsored participants in a rainbow of chalk powder.

How we worked together

As the first event of its kind in Burnley, Pendleside Hospice needed to raise the event’s profile quickly, building excitement and participation from the local community as effectively as possible.

Digital Marketing – The obvious first priority. Pendleside Hospice needed a digital marketing strategy that could instantly deliver, to raise awareness, generate interest and drive sign-ups. The +24 Marketing team worked together to devise a plan that could work on all platforms effectively and affordably.

Content – Boosting sign-ups and generating excitement and anticipation for Burnley Colour Dash meant creating a range of tone-perfect content to engage potential participants. +24 Marketing’s social media and content teams collaborated closely to plan and produce a suite of effective content, including videos and photography, to bring the story to life.

The results

  • More than 1,200 individual participants signed up and took part in the first Burnley Colour Dash event
  • 700 early bird tickets, advertised on a number of social media channels, sold out in under an hour and a half
  • The event raised a grand total of £58,000 for Pendleside Hospice
