How To: Post Your Instagram Pictures at the Best Time

Instagram is one of the most popular social media sites in the world. The platform has more than 800 million monthly active users, with half of all users visiting the site daily. With that in mind, there’s no question of if you should be using Instagram for your business, but there is the question of when you should be using it.

When to post on Instagram can be difficult to discern, and for every account, the answer may be different. According to a recent analysis by scheduling tool Later, lunchtime (from 11am to 1pm) and in the evenings after work (from 7 to 11pm) are the ideal times. They reached these conclusions after analysing over 60 thousand Instagram posts and consulting with a hoard of social media managers.

As a business looking to engage other businesses, the best days to post on Instagram are weekdays, particularly Wednesday, and within business hours. If your business is not a B-2-B, and rather has a target audience that is comprised of members of the public, then weekends and after-work hours are the best times for you to post.

You should also take into consideration your audience. Instagram’s business page analytics show you the age, gender and location break-down of your audience. Implement these posting times in a way that aligns with the time zone matching where most of your audience comes from. An example of this would be posting a picture on a week day and three hours before lunch time if you’re a B-2-B business and most of your audience is from Dubai.

There are lots of elements to making Instagram work for your business, and timing is an important one of these.
