Periscope for Android is finally here. It's only been 2 months since it launched in the Apple store but it's been a long wait for Android users.
The new live streaming app contains many of the features found in the iOS version, but there are a few exclusives for Android. One of those is a new "return to broadcast" feature that is designed to help viewers get back to a stream after being interrupted by a phone call, text and suchlike. When viewing is interrupted, a notification will be displayed on the home screen. Then, when the user has finished dealing with the interruption, they just need to tap the notification and the app will load the stream they were previously watching.
Periscope's main rival, Meerkat, has been available on Android since the beginning of May so it will be interesting to see how the two compete now they are available on both platforms.
As we discussed in our first blog about Periscope last month, we're really excited about its potential for business. Don't forget to follow us on Periscope @Plus24Marketing for more news and Q&As with the +24 team. Here's the link to the Google Play Store where you can download the app.
